Widespread police encounters in Offenbach involving drug use, excessive drinking, and instances of resistance towards law enforcement officials
In a series of targeted operations, the South Hesse Police Headquarters has been making significant strides in combating drug trafficking, traffic violations, and other crimes.
Last weekend, a 49-year-old woman was stopped on the market square, allegedly in possession of cocaine. This incident led to charges under the Narcotics Act for the woman.
Elsewhere, a VW driver on the A66 was observed travelling in a zigzag pattern and ignoring signals to stop. This led to a high-speed chase that ended in a wooded area near Bruchköbel. The driver, a 35-year-old man, had a blood alcohol content of 1.82% and appeared to be under the influence of other substances. He too was charged under the Narcotics Act. No further finds were reported from his residence in Fulda.
In a separate incident, a 33-year-old man was stopped in Marienstraße, where a knuckleduster was found on him. This led to a criminal charge. The man resisted arrest, biting a police officer in the leg and causing injury.
On Sunday evening, a 40-year-old Romanian man was arrested on Offenbacher Markt after amphetamines and cocaine were found on him.
A 24-year-old driver without a valid license was stopped under the influence of drugs on Offenbach Waldstraße. The driver will now have to answer to several serious charges.
In another incident on Bismarck Street, over 90 grams of heroin were seized from a 46-year-old man. He is now under investigation for suspected drug trafficking.
The Offenbach police station conducted these checks with a focus on combating drug trafficking, traffic violations, and other crimes within the city and beyond. A 47-year-old man was also stopped for having an uninsured e-scooter, violating the compulsory insurance law.
