Extron Unveils Two New 8K Audio Processing Devices
In a significant development for the professional AV industry, Extron has announced the release of two new products: the DA2 HD 8K AE and the DA2 HD 8K AI. These devices are designed to meet the growing demands of commercial AV applications with 8K video resolution requirements.
The DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI are audio de-embedder and embedder devices, respectively, designed for use with standard and ultra-wide aspect ratio displays such as 21:9 and 5K. They are ideal for presentation venues and esports arenas, streamlining integration and operation.
Both devices are equipped to handle high data rate HDMI signals, supporting HDMI 2.1 data rates up to 40.1 Gbps. The DA2 HD 8K AE extracts two-channel LPCM audio from the HDMI input signal and converts it to analog audio, while the DA2 HD 8K AI accepts separate two-channel analog audio and converts it to 16-bit LPCM audio at 48 kHz for embedding onto the HDMI output signal.
The DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI also offer a range of advanced features. The analog output of the DA2 HD 8K AE is configurable for stereo or dual-mono signals, and the audio configuration of both products is adjustable. The devices feature Extron EDID Minder Plus, which supports additional memory blocks for displays that convey advanced features.
The DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI also provide input cable equalization and output muting, ensuring high-quality and reliable system operation. The DA2 HD 8K AI embedder features audio gain and attenuation adjustment, and the DA2 HD 8K AI embedder provides +5 VDC, 250 mA power on each output for external peripheral devices.
Both devices support HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. They are HDCP 2.3-compliant, ensuring compatibility with the latest content protection standards.
With their advanced EDID management and editing capability, the DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI ensure complete compatibility with a wide range of displays. These new products are part of Extron's expanding family of 8K products, demonstrating their commitment to pushing the boundaries of AV technology.
