Following a brazen theft at an illicit gambling den, the alleged perpetrators have been captures by authorities.
In a significant development, police have announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with a series of break-ins at gaming arcades in and around Leipzig. The suspects, aged between 16 and 26, were taken into custody following an attempted heist at a gaming arcade in Bad DΓΌben that was thwarted before it could be carried out.
The investigation, which was initiated following a robbery at a Leipzig betting office in mid-July, has since expanded to focus on potential connections between the suspects and organized robberies in gaming establishments. The criminal police are also investigating drug-related offenses and weapons violations in relation to the suspects.
During apartment searches conducted in early August, officers seized 7 kilograms of Crystal Meth and 17 kilograms of hashish. The investigation may potentially implicate the suspects in further robberies beyond the three initial incidents.
Two other individuals, a woman and a man, were temporarily detained during the investigation but have since been released. The arrests were announced by the police on Friday.
The investigation is currently examining whether the suspects can be linked to further robberies in Central Germany. As the investigation continues, updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
