Mexico's National Lottery Unveils Commemorative Ticket for September 15 Special Draw

The National Lottery (Lotenal) of Mexico has announced a special commemorative ticket for the upcoming September 15th Grand Special Draw, honouring Mexican migrants. This initiative forms part of a larger draw featuring over 4 million tickets and prizes totalling more than 424 million pesos (approximately US$22.83 million)[1][2][3].

Olivia Salomón Vibaldo, the general director of the National Lottery, officially presented this commemorative ticket, emphasizing its symbolic significance honoring the migrant community[2][3]. This move aligns with the lottery's tradition of creating commemorative tickets for important cultural moments, such as previous editions celebrating other notable events[4].

The objective of the September 15 Special Draw is to unite millions of families through luck and love for those who have had to emigrate. The draw includes various prize tiers, with 10 Grand Prizes of 25.5 million pesos each, 5 prizes of 10 million pesos, 5 prizes of 5 million pesos, 15 prizes of 1 million pesos, 18 prizes of 500,000 pesos, 25 prizes of 250,000 pesos, and 50 prizes of 100,000 pesos[1][2][3].

In addition, the draw includes approximation prizes: two prizes of 1 million 100 thousand pesos and two of 550 thousand pesos. Moreover, there will be 3,999 prizes of 7 thousand pesos and 3,999 prizes of 5 thousand pesos. The Special Grand Draw will also offer 39,999 refunds for those who match the final number[1][2][3].

This special draw coincides with the Cry of Independence and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month in the US, making it part of a larger context of national celebrations. The draw is more than just a game of chance; it is a symbolic gesture recognizing the effort and sacrifice of Mexican migrants[1][2][3].

The Commemorative Ticket for the Upcoming September 15 Special Draw has been presented by Olivia Salomón, who reaffirmed that the draw is a way to make migrants feel present in the collective memory of Mexico, stating, "They are not alone from their homeland." The Commemorative Ticket is being unveiled in honor of migrant brothers by presidential order[1][2][3].
